Wilder Days

Wilder Days is held in September, and features arts and crafts, music, and a parade.Wilder Days is an old-fashioned festival in remembrance of the author of the "Little House" book series, who made Mansfield her home. There are a variety of events on the square including craft booths, concessions, contests, games, a parade and lots more entertainment.

Children (and their parents or grandparents) often come to the annual Wilder Days celebration, dressed in costume representing the children of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s childhood and that of her husband, Almanzo Wilder. Almanzo’s childhood was the story for Farmer Boy, one of Laura’s most popular books.
